A nursery is often your child’s first experience of the education system, their first real experience of learning outside the family home.
At the Beehive School Nursery we aim to make learning fun, not only coveringyour child’s academic education but developing theirself-esteem, social-skills and moral values.
Motivation Learning should be seen as an adventure that will last for the rest of our lives. We believe that children respond to praise andencouragement, flourishing in this kind of environment.
Self-Discipline We believe that children enjoy responsibility; it helps them to feel ‘grown up’. We encourage children to care for oneanother, sharing toys and helping each other with tasks. An incentivesystem is used to reward good behaviour rather than focusing onpunishing bad. All the children work together to create a caring environment where no child is excluded!
Respect for other people Children are encouraged to respect and appreciate each other. In our multicultural environment childrenlearn to recognise and enjoy each other’s differences and similarities.Intolerance of any kind is not accepted from staff, children or parents. Astandard is set that will help the children value and care for others.
Achievement We believe that it is vital to discover and develop thegiftings of each child, so that they can grow in confidence through theirachievements. Our system of education is tailored towards the individual development of each child rather than a particular group.
Faith The Christian faith pervades our attitude towards teaching, discipline and care of all the children; however, children do not have to be ofthe Christian faith to attend the nursery. We use a God-centred curriculum and seek to teach the children what is right and wrong within a moral framework.
